"Mei"
First of all I must give a shout-out to my camera phone!! Thanks for filling in Samsung!!
Ok, now to my piece. This is my lino-cut entitled, "Mei". Mei translates as 'Plum' or loosely 'Plum Blossom'. It is also the name we have chosen for our baby we are adopting from China. : ) It is hand-colored with Pantone markers.

i love it!!!
you should get it framed and hang it in mei's room.
I would like to. I had so much fun doing it!
oh.....lovely.
Strong and delicate at once--I like it. I agree with sweetpea, it would be beautiful in Mei's nursery!
I am quite impressed with your choosing to do a lino cut. I never learned how to do those. I took intaglio etching in school, but I don't tend to have pans of acid laying around to dip my copper plates into, nor do I have a true press--or any kind of press for that matter.
Anyways, I really like this piece, thanks for posting it.
This is GORGEOUS! Definitely must be framed and hung in Mei's nursery.
I really feel intimidated by the raw talent y'all possess. Thanks for letting me play anyway :o)
Kristen-I'm so glad your playing, please don't feel intimated! I can only speak for my self, but I'm positive you have great talents I don't. For instance, I can't add or subtract. : )
Lizard, I was thinking you could use this as a theme in Mei's room...embroider a similar design into...say, some sweet little pillows.
W.G.-that is so sweet that you think I can embroider. : )
But actually I did have her room in mind. The walls are going to be a pale powder pink. I am thinking about silhouetted trees and flowers in white around the room. I have actually commissioned a piece, a drawing, from the artist at redclay... on our sidebar. The theme will be adoption with asian patterns. I'm really excited about it. My father-in-law is even contributing a photograph of a flower for the room.
I would love some contributions. ; )
definitely frame this for Mei's room!!! love it!!!!
i look forward to following your journey to Mei!
