Things Red...
This is the only thing I have painted recently: our guest room/nursery. At some point, it will cease to function as a guest room, but for now it is a little crowded as it has in it an adult dresser, bedside table and queen size bed as well as a portable crib, a changing table, a glider and a tall baby dresser.

I was so excited to paint this room the color "Red Red Wine". It is so scrumptious! I was disappointed, though, that the pictures make the red look darker and more brown that it does in person. The picture of Honor's fuzzi bunz is included because it shows the red color on the wall a little better than the other pics.

if I could get away with painting every room in my house a different shade of red, I would do it. I LOVE red walls! There is something so rich and full and warm about having red walls. I especially like being in a dark red room at night with just a few lamps on to add that warm rosy glow throughout the room. it makes me feel embraced. Red is simply so . . . alive.

I love it!

I am painting the dining room red soonish (next few weeks...) I need to find the equivalent of that color at Lowes (where we have gift card $$$)

Did you use tinted primer and all that jazz?

We got tinted primer that was tinted gray. Do not, I repeat, do not tint your primer with red. It makes the red on top have pink streaks that peek through. The gray color underneath makes it so that you don't have to paint as many coats of the red on top. Don't let any paint people at Lowe's convince you to tint the primer with red, either. I have now painted 5 rooms different shades of red. Gray primer is the only way to go. I promise. My word of honor.

I got into a disagreement with a paint "professional" at Lowe's who did not want to give me gray tinted primer. He was convinced I should tint with red. I left and went to Home Depot. They agreed with me and immediately tinted my primer for me. Macon and I thought the gray looked almost like a "confederate gray" when we were painting with it, if that gives you a sense of how deep to tint.

Anyways, all this to say that I hope you find a good color for your dining room and that you should always always always tint with gray for your primer if you are going to paint a room red. A red dining room would be FANTASTIC!!!!
